Companies that sell property insurance in other states must sell it in Florida if they want to offer car insurance here, state lawmakers agreed Friday.

The agreement was one of a handful Senate and House members worked out as they culled a number of ideas aimed at fixing Florida’s insurance woes. Legislators also agreed on proposals to allow some homeowners — mostly those who own their homes outright — to go without wind coverage. LINK.
